Dread Messengers

The Dread Messengers represent a little known sect of the the Unholy Church of Lord Zanatose Everhate. They are unaffilliated with the church proper but recieve their powers from the Demi-god. One might call them anti-paladins. Fear is their weapon, they cultivate and turn it into blinding terror. They can bring proud warriors to their knees simply by exploiting their greatest fears. Dread Messengers work in many ways. They gain the confidence of rulers only to undermine their confidence once they are 'trusted'. They also work to directly inspire fear through their own actions and appearance.

Adventuring Garb: Dread Messengers work towards two different philosphies when choosing their gear. The first is the more subtle, dark and mysterious aura presented by dark clothing that conceals the features. The second and most common is the use of demonic armor or tattoes to enhance their appearance. Dread Messengers choose their weapons as much for fear effect as usefulness. Sickles, scythes and serpentine blades seem to be favorites among the ranks.
