Lady Deathstrikeby Citadelraven.com Edition: l AD&D 2e l The original 2nd Edition entry from the Forge. ![]() Lady Deathstrike is a viscious looking sword with a dangerous sentience. The sword is a cross between a saber and a shortsword and can be used with either proficiency. The sword is possessed by a once powerful succubus and a human priestess of Tempus. The sword was originally semi-sentient and was carried by the priestess of Tempus. While battling a succubus within its extra-dimensional fortress, a violent explosion caused the extra-dimensional space to collapse. The sword used a now lost power to absorb its owner into itself in order to protect her essence. Unfortunately, the succubus was able to tag along for the soul transfer. The resulting mental battle merged the two essences together and led to the swords current state of existence. The spirit is that of vengeful woman who cares little for anyone but herself and her lover. Deathstrike is a Vorpal Sword +4. She has an Int 15 Ego 25 with a chaotic neutral alignment. The sword can communicate telepathically with its owner in a sultry, seductive voice. The swords powers are a combination of the two entities that are trapped inside. The sword grants the yielder immunity to all mind effecting powers. In addition, it can use each of the following powers once per three days. Deathstrike may heal its yielder once per day by performing an energy drain on its target. The victim must save vs. death or take an additional 2d8 damage which transferred to the yielder. The sword may cast charm person and dimension door at 20th level ability. Finally, Deathstrike can perform one attack per day that automatically hits and causes maximum damage. This sword prefers to have a male yielder. If the yielder is male and fails to master the sword, he will become hoeplessly in love with the entity in the sword. He will become so absorbed that he will instantly break off all releationships and become so self absorbed that his close friends may think him insane. He will constantly take to the sword and will ignore all women. The character is far from insane is actually still quite functional. He's just in love with his sword. Any female attempting to yield Deathstrike recieves a bonus equal to her reaction adjustment when rolling a contest of wills. If mastered, the sword will function normally, if the attampt fails, the sword will force the yielder to give the sword to a male within the party or trade it at the first oppurtunity.
