Staff of the Damnedby HimmingsFord
Edition: l D&D 3e (original) l Originally posted on the Realms of Evil forums (Womb of Creation), January 24, 2002. The author did not name an edition; it is filed under D&D 3e by its rules. This page uses the author's re-post with revised powers (January 28, 2002). Changes the author made later in the thread are applied and listed at the end. Shown as written, with light spelling and formatting fixes only. This staff was created by the great Necromancer Wayrech after his daughter had an affair with his rivals son. She became pregnant with his child and when her father found out who was the father he took her into his laboratory and chained her to the center stone of Wayrech tower. There he tapped the negative energies of his necromantic abilities and withdrew from her the child which he had encased in a black crystal ball. Thus he thought that he had punished her appropriately so he set the crystal in a plain mithral staff. After she recuperated from the ordeal she stole the staff and fled to her lovers tower. So sorrowful was he that he tried to reverse the effects of her fathers spell and ended up creating what is known as a flux of energies. The staff was said to have been destroyed in the flux but there has been reports of a wizard by the name of Thiases the Black that recovered the staff from the ruins of Gollia, Wayrech's rivals destroyed tower. After recovering the staff Thiases had the staff hidden in a chamber under Mt. Beanen so he could study this mysterious staff of power. The staff's powers are as follows:
Original PowersThe first version (January 24, 2002) had ESP (50' radius) in place of Improved Vampiric Seduction, and no bonus damage against spellcasters. Author's Notes and Corrections
