Eagle Fury

Edition:  l  AD&D 2e  l

The original 2nd Edition entry from the Forge.

Eagle Fury, known as Shaunondil to the elves who created it is a longbow of great power. Created centuries ago by magicians the likes of which Elminster has never seen, this longbow has made many appearances throughout history. Originally the weapon of a great elven warrior, Shaunondil's history has led it into the hands of many adventurers.

Eagle Fury is an inticately carved wooden bow that appears to be missing a string. In truth, the bow needs no string. Simply by pulling back on what wood be the string, causes a magical arrow and string to appear. The arrows do 1d12 damage and have a +2 to hit. Arrows from the bow are extremely hot and will cause fire. The magic of the bow limits it to two attacks per round regardless of the number available to the wielder. Furthermore, the bow can be transformed into a staff simply by tapping the end on the ground and speaking its name. The bow acts as a normal quarterstaff when so transformed.
