Icingdeathby Citadelraven.com
IcingDeath was created by Justid "Chip" Strohmbold. It is a composite shortbow; it handle is carved of crystal and its arms are made of ivory from the local knucklehead trout. A mage of some renown in the North, Justid made his home on the northern edge of the Spine of the World overlooking Reghad Glacier. What took him to the area no one knows although it is believed that he discovered a hidden tropical valley and was studying its unique wildlife. Chip, as he was often called, got his name from the large 'chip' on his shoulder. He was a cynical man, even to his friends. Having a taste for both wizardry and combat, Justid created IcingDeath and named it after a Great Wyrm known to live in the area. IcingDeath is a composite shortbow +2. This shortbow never needs arrows as long as there is moisture in the air. When the string is pulled back, the bow absorbs moisture from the air and creates an arrow of ice. These arrows are considered arrows +1/+3 vs. fire-using creatures. However, due to the nature of its magic, this weapon cannot fire more than two arrows per round and cannot be used in arid regions such as deserts; when the arrow creating magic does not work the bow may still function as a +2 bow. Furthermore, the unique magic of this bow makes it possible to fire it underwater at normal ranges. The bow also acts as a ring of water breathing and cold resistance.
