Eyepatch of Seeing

Eyepatch of Seeing

Edition:  l  AD&D 2e  l  D&D 3e (original)  l

The original 2nd Edition entry from the Forge.

Much to the disappointment of many injured warriors, this item does not restore sight to an eye that has been lost or blinded. The eyepatch of seeing is a simple black eyepatch with a small diamond in the center.

When worn, the eyepathc has several abilites. First, the person wearing the patch sees normally as if not wearing the eye patch at all. The patch also confers true seeing to the wearer. The eye patch also allows the wearer to read any written language whether it be magic or arcane. It does not allow fighters to cast scrolls, but they can at least tell what the nature of a given scroll may be. Finally, the wearer becomes immune to hypnotism and gaze attacks such as a medusa's or basilisk's.

As submitted to the site's 3e section; shown unchanged.

Despite its concealing nature, the eyepatch allows the wearer to see normally. The patch also confers true seeing, as the spell, to the wearer.
