A Chance to Die

(to honor the two guardians)

A call went out
To all the land
Who will come
Who will stand
We will come
A lady and her man
Here in this place of iron
Here where no one will come
Where no one can
The ages come
The ages go
How long we wait
Only the fates know
Here we faithfully stand
Awaiting our final foe
Who will be the one to try
Who will defeat us finally for our chance to die

Friends

Who will stand by you
Who will care
Who defends you
Against those who dare
How can I describe them?
How can I be fair?
In the entire world only one word comes close
Only one shows how much we share
Let the word go forth
Shout it into the air!
FRIENDS!

Love

What do we fight for?
For what do we die?
Love is the open door
Love is the wind so we can fly
Who are those of the shadow?
For what do they hate?
Love is what makes them hollow
Love will defeat them so said fate

Honor

(this is a personal chant)

It is all I have
It is all I can control
Honor
It is what we can rely on
It is what we have when we are old
Honor
It is what we have learned
It is what we must teach
Honor
It is that for which we fight
It is that for which we die
Honor
It is that for which we live
It is that for which we call
Honor
It is all we can ever be
It is all the shadows can never be
HONOR!

Fear

Fear what is this emotion we feel
Fear it seems so real
It can make us shiver and quake
It affects every breath we try to take
Fear it is a personal thing
Fear can be inside a pauper or even a king
I must bring about its defeat
For how else will I be complete
Finally when the fear is on the shelf
I will shout "there is nothing to fear but fear itself"

The Tale of Shur

A teller of tails has come covered in a cloak to the summer gathering of all the clans. Out shouts a voice that can be heard through out the summer meeting.
"Children come to listen."

I tell this tale as I was told so all that hear can know Shur. Shur as she is, was, and will be.

Shur what was she you may ask? She was a blessing gifted from one clan to the family of another. How can any one child be so innocent yet so strong of temper. "What is this mother? Why must we do this? What do you mean I look odd?! I am not strange for after all we are all different." These are only some of the questions she would ask with in the first moments of awaking in the new day. She was one of the few white ones among us. She grew into a tall fine female. Always gentle with those who were smaller. Except when they needed discipline. Perhaps that is why all three of our protectors chose her for their own. Or perhaps they simply enjoyed the look of their black runes looked on the white background of her body and horns. After all who knows what brings a chosen to "Their" notice. How she carried herself strong and tall on her own two feet, the rareness of her coloring, or the honor, kindness, and innocence inside her. We will never know. We will only know that for whatever the reasons she was chosen and did prove worthy of all them. Hail to; Shar the Hawk, Hindue the Spider and Ket Nur Moric the Sleeping Drake.

Shur what is she now you wish to know? She is a female grown now. Chosen by all three of the White Ones protector spirits. Destined to walk outside our lands and away from her people's love. What, a lonely one you say. No not Shur. She has the rare gift to find "family" in any race. Her friends are her companions, family, and shield siblings. Also how can she ever be alone when she has three protectors to walk with and the constant "friend" of the music in her harp? The only two things that she is shamed to have are her temper and the fear of small spaces. But even those dooms could not stop her from being the loyal, honorable, and honest person she is.

Shur what do the stars say she will be you wonder. Know this my children the future is a cloudy thing. But this I was told by the voice. Shur will be known as the Honored One. She will bring the Change. She will aid in awaking the sleeping drake. She will be held as example of the true of heart and strong in purpose. Will she not best her fear and tame her temper. Will she not bring us to our true world and show us all that even those not of our kind can be honorable and true, worth trust and friendship. Her songs will be sung to remember those she fought whom fell with honor and those who fought beside her.

Remember children of what is said today. For you must tell it tomorrow. Go now and reflect on what you have heard. Perhaps you too can bring great change. After all even one can change a world.

"Tail spinner can we know your name so we may remember that too?"
Yes you can children my name is Shur.
"GASP! But Shur walks with the ancestors now."

Yes young ones I do. But the protectors have willed me to do this telling. I have done the best I know how. Now you must spread the tail and I may rest. Long life young ones. Live it in honor and love.

The cloak then falls to reveal an old white female. She stands and shouts "Protectors I am finished let me come home." Then one moment she was there and you blink then she is not. This is left with you children (was that really Shur and if it was are you sure?)

Here are some of Shur's poems and chants. We her protectors hope you enjoy them. Live long, honorable and loved.
