Heroes: Venger
Venger is tall and well muscled. He has short bleach-blond hair that is easily mistaken as white. His demeanor seems to be serious but those that know him best, would describe him as light-hearted and compassionate.

Aura of Good (Ex): Venger's aura of good is as strong as that of a 1st-level cleric.
Detect Evil (Sp): At will, as the spell.
Smite Evil (Su): Once per day Venger adds +2 to one melee attack roll against an evil foe and +1 to its damage.
Rising Sun: A +2 heavy steel shield that lets him turn undead and has three command-word light powers (illu, mas illu and gran illu). Full rules are on its item page.
Conversion notes (how conversions are made):
- Rising Sun's +2 becomes a +2 heavy steel shield (+4 AC). Chain mail caps his Dexterity bonus at +2 and slows him to 20 ft.
- A paladin doesn't gain divine grace, lay on hands, aura of courage or turn undead until later levels, so they aren't listed. His turning comes from Rising Sun.
- His 2e weapon expertise with the two-handed sword becomes Weapon Focus. Power Attack fills his second feat.

Combat: Venger is an accomplished warrior. In combat he will fight with his magical shield Rising Sun and a short sword. Against larger foes, Venger will draw his Two-handed sword and hack his enemies to pieces. Venger is very practical and does not share the cavalier attitude that many of his fellow paladins have adopted. He is not above attacking at a distance or fleeing from combat. Although you best be fleet-of-foot should you call him cowardly.
History: Venger was destined for paladinhood from birth. His father is a member of the Order of Aster and his mother is a priestess of Selune. He was taught the basics of both religions, but in the end Venger's lust for adventure led him to the Order of Aster where his father sponsered him through his training. During his training, his efforts gained the attention of Beld Everbright, the highest ranking and oldest member of the Order. Beld initiated a close friendship with Venger and saw to it that he was pushed harder in his studies than any other of the young paladins-to-be. Beld was an old man (nearly 90) yet had the vibrance of a teen, he saw in Venger the ability to be the next chosen among the Order, destined to one-day lead the Order. Upon Vengers promotion to squire, Beld passed on to him the Rising Sun, the most holy magic item of the Order.
