CELESTIAN GOLD
submitted by Asharak at the Realms of Evil forums (Womb of Creation), January 31, 2002
Celestian gold is the equivalent of Baatorian green steel. Any armor forged of it becomes one weight class lighter, gains an additional +2 AC bonus, and subtracts 20% from arcane spell failure checks. Weapons forged of it may be enchanted up to +11 in terms of abilities, as the metal accepts and retains magic better than normal, or +6 in terms of damage. Note that any evil-aligned creature staying in prolonged contact (a day or more) begins to feel disgusted by the metal, and suffers a –2 to all abilities while in its presence. As soon as the metal is gone, so is the penalty.
Used in: Valene, the sword of the archmage Christov. Compare: Baatorian Green Steel (2E New Metals).
Edition: D&D 3e. The author did not name an edition; it is filed under D&D 3e by its rules. Source: posted with Valene. Original thread: "Christovs Sword-Valene" in the Realms of Evil Forum Archive. Shown as written, with light spelling and formatting fixes only.
