Citadel Raven.com
Founded: June, 1998
Citadel Raven started out as Commander Venger's Realm of Warlords and Warriors. The Commander Venger part came from my association with a Diablo Guild (of which I'm still part of). While I enjoy almost every aspect of AD&D, I was constantly annoyed when every site I visited had a large spell list but nothing for fighters. So, I decided that it was time that the warrior class got a bit of their due. Afterall, who keeps those wimpy mages alive at low levels :) I started off with a meager list of magic items, a set of homebrewed rules for fighting styles and a bunch of self-help links for learning HTML.
Citadel Raven is the fourth incarnation of my webpage. It lasted through three graphical changes before the name was officially changed. Things really took off for me in early 2000 when I became good friends with Shawn Mulder the webmaster of realmsofevil.net. He introduced me to the RPGC, of which I am now a proud member.
Since joining the RPGC, Citadelraven.com has grown significantly. Not only has site traffice grown immensely, but the site has been upgraded to use Coldfusion. It has also recieved a visual and organizational overhaul. I dumped some of the more confusing links and set up a system that is easier to navigate. A great deal of credit also goes out to Paladin of Dragonlance.com. He played a large part in masterminding the reorganization of the site and has bee a huge help with the Coldfusion programming. I'm eternally greatful.
With the latest overhaul of Citadelraven.com, I've also changed the focus a bit. While I will always favor fighters, I have decided to expand my scope and offer services to all players and DM's alike. My new mission is to become the ultimate source for quality gaming material for the serious gamer. I know it sounds like a mouthful, but I'm doing it all for you gamers. I hope you enjoy it all.
