Current StaffJeffRole: Restorer and caretaker Back when the Citadel was running, I spent most of my free time here and over at RealmsofEvil.net. Both sites went dark a long time ago, but neither one ever really left my head, so in late 2025 I decided to bring the Citadel back. These days I work as an infrastructure and systems engineer, so most of my time on the site so far has gone into fixing what time broke: dead links, pages that no longer run, and artwork that went missing along the way. I'm still a game master at heart, running tabletop campaigns and building more prep tools than any one GM really needs. When I'm not behind the screen I'm usually painting and collecting Warhammer 40K. The plan from here is to keep the original material intact, add some of my own work, and point toward the systems that have come out since the Citadel went quiet. Mostly it's for me and a few friends, but if you've wandered in, welcome. Former StaffCitadel Raven was built and run by a small crew of gamers. These are the people who made it what it was. Brian SwedorskiRole: Webmaster, creator and owner Brian grew up around Flint, Michigan, and was still living there while he ran the site. When he wasn't at his computer, he enjoyed reading, mountain biking, hiking and camping, and he was an avid Star Wars fan. He earned a Master of Architecture in college, where he also met his wife, Angie; they married on September 12, 1998. During his time with Citadel Raven he worked for a design/build firm and greatly enjoyed the work. By the time he built the site, Brian had been gaming for about twelve years. He started with Marvel Super Heroes, in the days before the SAGA rules. He came to AD&D almost by chance, when a friend insisted he read the Dragonlance Chronicles; he was hooked, and before long he was playing. He never forgot his first session. He was handed a character in a long-running campaign that was Monty Haul gaming at its finest: a level 18/18 halfling thief/assassin carrying more magic items than the DMG. The high point was walking into a tavern of fifty people and walking out with every one of their purses. From then on Brian was a dedicated RPG fan. He played Marvel, Star Wars, GURPS and AD&D before moving on to 3E D&D. He found he had a real knack for building intriguing storylines and shaping adventures around what his players wanted, so he spent most of his time behind the DM's screen. On the rare occasions he got to play instead, he found being on the other side of the dice a refreshing change. Matt BoleyRole: Content designer Matt married his high school sweetheart, Candice, on June 14, 2000. He graduated from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, with a major in History and Political Science, and at the time planned to start law school in August 2001. Matt started roleplaying at thirteen and had about eight years of gaming behind him while he worked on the site, covering AD&D, Star Wars and Alternity, though by then he played AD&D almost exclusively. He had been running his own campaigns for about four years, including a set of campaigns for a group of friends throughout college. His favorite settings were the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk and Planescape, and his favorite characters to play were rangers, thieves and ninjas, bladesingers and psionicists. He had a strong interest in oriental settings and owned both the Oriental Adventures handbook and the Kara-Tur boxed set, the Forgotten Realms' eastern extension. Matt especially enjoyed creating magic items and artifacts, and drew most of his ideas from reading: Star Wars, BattleTech and D&D novels, including all of R.A. Salvatore's books, the Elminster trilogy and the Harpers series. He also read comics, with a soft spot for fantasy titles like Battle Chasers and Soul Saga. His gaming went beyond tabletop RPGs to collectible card games such as BattleTech and Wildstorms, and computer games like Baldur's Gate and MechCommander.
