This Vest made of black velvet is a thiefs prize. When worn by any character, the vest confers a +1 AC bonus. However, when worn by a thief or a multi-class thief, the vests hidden powers become apparent.

A thief wearing a Vest of Shadows is undetectable by magic or psionic powers. The subtlety of the vests power is such that it effects the minds of individuals searching for the wearer. The result is a +10% to Move Silently and Hide in Shadows.

Any class wearing the Vest of Shadows also benefits from the vest's ability to convert all melee damage to bludgeoning. This renders the wearer immune to a thiefs backstab ability and reduces the damage from piercing and slashing weapons by 1pt per die of damage.
