Amulet of Bestrand
Submitted by Kim Mcgraw
This appears to be a small clear crystal on a silver chain. In the center of the crystal is a small red dot. When examined closely (as with a magnifying glass), the red dot can be seen to be a very tiny beating heart. These items were created approximately 500 years ago by the cleric Bestrand for use by his armies in their fight against the Drow invasion. Very few of the items remain, for obvious reasons.

The amulet automatically protects the wearer against death. When the wearer receives enough damage to kill him/her, the amulet flashes brightly and the character disappears. He/she awakens in the exact location where he/she had the last full night's rest. (Partial nights' rest while taking a turn on watch do NOT count.) The character has all equipment and items when he/she reawakens but has only 1 hit point. No loss of CON is caused by the use of the amulet. The amulet disappears after its use.
