- - The Forge- -

Cutter
Cutter is a vicious looking longsword. It is said that the sword was forged in the pits of hell. This is totally untrue; in fact the sword was created by dwarves on the prime material plane for a ranger friend. The dwarves simply did not count on the sword being this powerful. It has a somewhat malicious personality. The ranger who recieved the weapon as a gift used it in spite of the danger. He did not want to dishonor the dwarves by throwing away their magnificent gift. Unfortuantely, in a test of wills, Cutter proved the stronger. In what could have been an easy win against a Mountain giant, the ranger cast down his bow and charged the behemoth. He never made to him. His body was crushed by a boulder and he died on the mountain.

Cutter is a longsword of sharpness +5. In addition to the powers listed for a sword of sharpness, cutter has been imbued with some additional powers. The sword can cut through inanimate objects like a warm knife through butter. All items make a saving through at -4 when struck by Cutter (the ranger commonly patroled areas with thick undergrowth). In addition, the sword is highly intelligent it has an Int 18 and Will 16. It loves a good fight, if the wielder does not win mastery over the sword he will find himself unable to use missle weapons. He will be overcome with the urge to charge into battle and slice down his enemies. The wielder does not enter a battle rage, he simply has an unresistable urge to sink the blade to the hilt into his enemies. The sword communicates telepathically with its wielder and knows most languages.
